Our Friend Christopher Volleyball Tournament

Saturday, June 11th, Our Friend Christopher hosted a charity event – a volleyball tournament! Reeves Young was fortunate to be a sponsor of such an amazing event. The Board of OFC prepared lunch for all the participants, while a few other extra helpers grilled the rest of lunch for several hours. It was very clear how many people loved Chris Miles and how many lives he touched. You should’ve seen how hard people fought for that trophy! In the end, a group of some of Chris’ best friends won the big trophy. A balloon release was held after awards were handed out. Ninety-two balloons to be exact. This was Chris Miles’ number he always used in sports – one that North Gwinnett officially retired. OFC planned an outstanding event and they raised $15,000. Thank you to those who took time out of their day to support an outstanding cause.

Bring Your Child to Work Day 2022

Friday, June 10th, we invited the coolest of all children to come to hang out at Reeves Young for the day – it was Bring Your Child to Work Day! For those cool kids who were able to make it, their day was filled with cotton candy, chalk drawings, and a bouncy house galore! We also had an inflatable water slide and inflatable carnival games. Several children played tag and raced each other down the slide, while others blew bubbles and played basketball with their parents. Some children were so new, they were a few months old – how cute! We wrapped up the carnival-themed day with balloon animals, barbecue, and Kona ice.
Reeves Young is grateful for an environment so amazing that we can have our kids come to join us for a day. Thank you for such a wonderful end to the week!

A. Scott Emmons WRF Ribbon Cutting 2022

On Thursday, May 19th, Reeves Young held a ribbon cutting for the grand opening of the A. Scott Emmons Water Reclamation Facility. Our team had the privilege of hearing several wonderful speeches honoring the late Scott Emmons and his legacy in Newton County. A tour of the facility was provided for all guests, and a barbecue lunch and ice cream celebration. Reeves Young also provided seed packets of “forget-me-not” flowers for all attendees in honor of Scott Emmons, along with handouts containing project progress photos and details on the facility. Scott Emmons was loved and appreciated by many, and we are humbled to have been involved in this project bearing his name.

Reeves Young Intern Outing 2022

It’s our favorite time of the year…our summer interns are here!

Reeves Young is incredibly lucky to be welcoming twenty-seven new and returning interns for the summer. On Orientation Day, all interns began their first day with Reeves Young by getting to know the Company and each other with a morning of ice-breaker questions and an office tour from our HR/Administration team. The interns then ventured out to Reeves Young’s Gwinnett County Fire Station No. 13 project, just around the corner from the office. As soon as they arrived at the job site, the interns were shown just how much the Reeves Young team is FOR Safety by being taught several precautionary measures to be aware of on all Reeves Young job sites, including the importance of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). They then paid close attention as members of the project team went over project details like who the client and architect are and what subcontractors are partnered with us on the project. They were invited to ask questions and even impressed the seasoned project management staff with their questions. After the job site tour, the interns worked up an appetite playing team-building games and then headed to lunch to celebrate their first day with Reeves Young.

We are eager to see how much our interns learn with us this summer and even more excited to see what they will teach our team!

Reeves Young Annual Golf Tournament 2022

On May 10th, Reeves Young hosted its annual charity golf tournament in support of the FUN (Friends U Need) Club and North Gwinnett High School’s Touchdown Club. Many Reeves Young employees, clients, and subcontractor/vendor partners spent the day golfing and networking for a good cause. All attendees enjoyed a delicious chicken sandwich lunch provided by Zaxby’s and their awesome food truck team. Thanks to the incredible organizations who sponsored, the sold-out event raised more than $100,000 for these incredible organizations. Reeves Young is grateful for everyone who participated with us and we look forward to the next one!

The FUN Club, also known as The Friends U Need, is a daily program for young adults (22 and up) with special needs. The FUN Club enables its participants to maintain a healthy social life within their community while also providing personal enrichment and daily life skills lessons. Meet the Interns Summer 2021

Our team has had an incredible summer full of activity including huge project wins, groundbreakings, ribbon cuttings, and more. Many of our staff have been able to take memorable trips and family vacations, and some have enjoyed the much-needed time to rest and recharge. However, none of these great things would have been possible without the amazing and capable interns that we have had joining us for the summer! This group of hard-working, dedicated, and passionate individuals came together this summer from eight different institutions and grew into a unit of unstoppable leaders. From Accounting to Preconstruction, each of our seventeen interns was given an important role at Reeves Young, and each performed their tasks with intention, creativity, and excellence. We are so grateful for all of their hard work, and we celebrate all of their achievements. Please read below about each of our unique interns, and enjoy getting to know them like we all have this summer.
