Bill Reeves brings one of the first hydraulic excavators to Atlanta. He starts Reeves Contracting Company by installing utilities throughout the City.
1962
10 Years in Business
Reeves Contracting Company continues to expand and celebrates 10 years in business.
1970
Grading work
Reeves Contracting Company’s services expand to include grading work in addition to utility installation.
1973
Dean Reeves Joins Company
Dean Reeves graduates from Georgia Tech and leads the company to work on legacy projects like the Georgia Dome.
1975
Full Site Development
Reeves Contracting’s services expand to include full site development services including paving, curbing, landscaping, and ornamental masonry.
1980
Our Expertise Increases
The company develops even greater expertise in complex, technically challenging work.
1989
Georgia World Congress Center
Reeves builds the infrastructure for the Georgia World Congress Center.
1990
Eric Young Joins Holder Construction
Eric Young joins Holder Construction and builds projects for Fortune 500 clients. Eric and Dean Reeves are introduced.
1993
Reeves Contracting Company Works with Brasfield & Gorrie
Eric Young joins Brasfield & Gorrie and grows the firm from the ground up. He later becomes Division Manager of the Commercial and Institutional Divisions and Vice President. Reeves Contracting Company performs the infrastructure work for many Brasfield & Gorrie projects.
1994
Infrastructure for Centennial Place
Reeves Contracting Company builds the infrastructure for Centennial Place – the new multifamily project that replaces a 1950’s housing project. Atlanta redevelops downtown in preparation for the 1996 Olympics.
2002
Half-Century in Business
Reeves Contracting Company celebrates a half-century in business.
2003
Work on Georgia Aquarium Begins
Eric Young is the Project Executive for the construction of the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta. Reeves Contracting Company performs all of the site development and utility work on the project.
2005
Earth-moving Record
Reeves Contracting moves 1.6 million cubic yards of dirt on a single project, setting a record for the company.
2006
Eric Young Joins Reeves Contracting
Eric Young retires from Brasfield & Gorrie before the age of 40 and becomes co-owner of Reeves Contracting Company.
2007
William Reeves Leads Heavy Civil Division
William Reeves, 3rd generation of Reeves leadership, takes over the Heavy Civil Division.
2008
Atlanta Beltline
Reeves Contracting Company builds the Atlanta Beltline’s Historic Fourth Ward Park and the firm expands into General Contracting services.
2012
Geographic Reach Expands
The firm’s geographic footprint is expanded throughout the Southeast.
2013
Water Resources Division
Reeves Contracting Company adds a Water Resources Division, bringing new water reuse technology to the country.
2014
Reeves Acquires Potts Construction
Reeves Contracting Company acquires Potts Construction and begins providing full-service vertical construction services.
2015
Reeves Contracting Company renamed Reeves Young
In order to reflect its current ownership, the company rebranded as Reeves Young and broke ground on a new 50,000 square foot, Class A office space in Sugar Hill, Georgia.
2015
Matt McCormack joins Reeves Young to Lead Water Resources Division
Matt McCormack takes over the Water Resources Division adding expertise in the construction of water reclamation, water treatment, and water innovation facilities.
2017
Kevin Smith Joins Reeves Young to Lead Commercial Division
Kevin Smith takes over the Commercial Division and begins utilizing his extensive relationships with owners, designers, and subcontractors to enhance Reeves Young’s diverse project portfolio.
2020
New Office Opens in Nashville
To better serve its clients throughout the Southeast, Reeves Young opens an office in Nashville, Tennessee.
