Community

Dedicated to Serving

Whether it is our people or our projects, one thing is clear about Reeves Young — we care. Our commitment to caring is no better displayed than in the active role we take in supporting our surrounding community. From hosting events that bring people from all walks of life together to sponsorship and volunteering with organizations that are doing incredible work, our team is dedicated to serving others.

BUILDING A STRONG FOUNDATION

When a special-needs child reaches age 22, they are no longer able to attend public school. When this occurs, their families must make some difficult choicesFinding an organization that is devoted to providing daily activities for their special-needs family member so they can remain social, active, and happy becomes a priority. Families need a resource like FriendsUNeed, an organization that provides life enrichment without placing a financial burden on their households.

Reeves Young is proud to sponsor the FUN Club, a group for special-needs adults who have aged out of the school system. This program provides daily structured enrichment activities and allows its club members the opportunity to spend time actively participating in the community through partnerships with local businesses. Over the last 5 years, Reeves Young has donated more than $350,000 to the FUN Club and is lucky to have the opportunity to host them each year at our annual golf tournament, Halloween party, and FUNtasia Celebration, as well as monthly visits to our office for lunch.

ENRICHING THE YOUTH

Reeves Young has assisted the North Gwinnett High School DECA clubfootball team, BETA club, and Key Club in several ways to enrich the lives of the students in our local community. Whether the students volunteered at one of our many events throughout the year or received feedback on projects for their annual competitions, we make sure to provide the youth in our community with the knowledge and importance of giving back.

BRING ART TO LIFE

Suwanee Performing Arts (SPA) is a nonprofit community arts organization founded on the principle that art is life and it ignites a passion for excellence in community through the performing arts. Each year Suwanee Performing Arts auditions dozens of young artists who wish to perform in one or more of SPA’s performance groups. The organization provides much-needed scholarships for many young artists in the community who, without financial assistance, would not be able to pursue their dreams.

We partner with SPA for our annual FUNtasia eventThe group performs multiple numbers during FUNtasia and provides a booth with information on classes and how guests can become part of the organization.

BRIDGING THE GAP

The North Gwinnett Cooperative was formed in 1991 as a ministry that provides food, clothing, financial assistance, and spiritual support to those in need in the Buford, Suwanee, and Sugar Hill communities. Originally formed by Sugar Hill United Methodist Church in 1991, the ministry is now supported by additional congregations, area businesses, civic organizations, schools, and individuals who generously donate food, clothing, financial resources, and committed volunteer efforts.

We participate in the North Gwinnett yearly toy drive and participate in their Santa Shop. We have collected toys and other gifts for children up to 18 years old and have helped parents “shop” for their children in the Santa Shop. Several Reeves Young employees volunteer each year to help out with these events.
