Norfolk Southern

Reeves Young is providing turnkey site development services including erosion, dewatering, shoring, excavation, grading, stormwater, water, and sewer infrastructure for Norfolk Southern’s new corporate headquarters. The two-tower project will include approximately 856,000 SF of office space and a 14,000 SF childcare center with a 3,600 SF outdoor play area. Three levels of below grade parking are also required for the project and entail 77,100 SF of shoring, 159,270 CY of soil excavation, including 29,000 CY of impacted soils, a temporary dewatering system with over 100 wells, and a permanent underdrain system.

Beacon Municipal Complex

The Beacon Municipal Court Complex is an adaptive re-use and new construction of a historic three-building city municipal complex. The project, totaling 84,377 SF, included a police and municipal court facility with courtroom, holding cells and 911 communications, an active living building with classrooms, a gymnasium, and a City of Decatur Schools Administration Building. The LEED Silver project also included the construction of a plaza to connect the three buildings. Three additional project scopes were added mid-project: re-routing a major artery of the city’s active storm sewer, building a two and one-half acre water retention vault below a soccer field to manage site flooding, and expanding and renovating an adjoining community pool.

Reeves Young is responsible for the turnkey site development on this 2,000,000 SF new construction project near the Atlanta BeltLine for Brasfield & Gorrie. The project includes heavy civil services such as erosion control, site grading, dewatering, blasting, excavation of 205,000 CY of dirt, 40,000 CY of rock, site utility installation, and intersection improvements.
