Location: Atlanta, Georgia
The Reeves Young/CERM/HGOR/Portman design build team was chosen by the City of Atlanta to complete the Westside Park at Bellwood Quary and related site work. The project consists of the conceptual master planning, design, prescribing ecological restorative treatments for highly degraded industrial sites, permitting and construction for Phase I improvements and amenities at Atlanta’s Future Westside Park at Bellwood Quarry. The first phase of the 280 acre, $26.5 million project will include a gateway entrance at the intersection of Johnson Road and Grove Park Place. The gateway, which will have lighting, signage and graphics, is set on the park’s north side. The restoration of Grove Park Place will include resurfacing of the road and improvement of the greenery along the corridor. The park will have trails, a pedestrian connection to the Proctor Creek Greenway and an ADA-accessible overlook.
