Dekalb County Public Safety Headquarters

This project for the DeKalb County Public Safety Department involved the interior renovation of two five-story buildings totaling 250,000 SF. Both buildings were completely renovated including finishes, mechanical systems, and structural elements to accommodate the new headquarters for the county police and fire departments as well as the county 911 Center — the third largest in the country behind Los Angeles and Miami. The police headquarters houses the DeKalb Police precinct, holding cells, crime scene investigation unit, investigator offices, chief of police office, conference rooms, and training rooms. The sophisticated 20,000 SF 911 Center includes 42 call stations, three supervisor stations, an emergency management agency room, IT storage and repair, server room, and a training area. All areas were built utilizing the latest in communications and technology.
